The Alien Siege Machine: Unsustainable

One of the most spectacular art installations at Burning Man 2014 was Dan Fox's piece, The Alien Siege Machine.  More than 40 feet tall, climbable, interactive, and complete with an amazing backstory and performance... leading into quite possibly the most epic pyro show and burn in the history of Burning Man.

I didn't have any advance plans to shoot video of this piece, but after returning from the event and going through the footage I managed to get, I wanted to try and put something together.
Using Premiere Pro CC 2014, I scrubbed through all my footage to find the best bits, and then from there went through a few different variations to find a way to make it all work with the music I wanted to use.

The in-camera audio was either completely unusable (thanks to noisy art cars playing terrible music) or needed a lot of work, so I jumped over to Audition CC to play sound designer and come up with something usable.
Afterwards, it was back into Premiere Pro CC to tighten up the edits and add some polish, then render it out using Media Encoder.  Check out the video below - enjoy!
